I have long loved making lo-fi videos. Here’s a wicked remix of my song “Between Atoms” by Pierre Crube (of Numéro). For the video featuring Shane Watt (Semi-fictional Mapmaker), I used prisms, lenses, a variety of sunglasses, a retro shower cap, beautiful marble moon (Justin Parr – Glassmaker, San Antonio) PhotoBooth, iMovie and LOT of imagination. Marfa, I love you all right!

Well the wind is whipping dust all over the place and I’ve been busy writing in this adobe bungalow on Texas street in the heart of Marfa. I performed at the patio at the historic El Paisano hotel on Saturday for locals, tourists and a gaggle of fancy wedding goers! Tomorrow night I’ll be playing a special set (with KM and Lederhosen Lucil songs) as “Pickwick & the Twisted Satyr.” 8pm at the Lonely Horse Saloon (formerly known as Ray’s Bar). “Drunken Parents,” an Italian punk cover band will play afterwards.

A few days ago I just couldn’t resist penning this little country love song to Miss Marfa herself. Enjoy!

Chanson-O-Gramme amour! Texasbound…

Spring! Le printemps arrive et j’ai recu cette feedback (qui a me fit rougir) de mon chanson d’amour pour le fiancé d’André Péloquin - journaliste culturel, blogueur, chroniqueur, animateur de radio, podcasteur et réalisateur indépendant québecois.

Et maintenant…Texas! I’m heading south to Marfa to work, play and reunite with bicycle gang “Middle Earth.” A new album is in the works with the single to be released soooon so I’ll keep you posted!

And for Lederhosen Lucil fans…Lucil has been peeking out of the pantry more and more and will be playing at Montreal’s Onemanband festival in May. A new album is in the works…

Inspired by another lovely artist Goh Nakamura I created a “Chanson-O-Gramme” service in which friends and fans of my music could order custom songs written en Francais ou in English. It was launched during this past Valentine’s season to rave reviews! I got to hear inspiring stories of love and friendship and crafted these into songs (beautiful, whimsical, comical…) - weaving in words, images, inside jokes, etc.

and I’ll admit I spent most of the day watching the snow fall softly past the window. I’m currently bed-ridden and taking this rare and literal down time to pen lyrics for my next release. The demos are taking shape and I’ve got it in my head that I’ll be recording in Marfa, Texas come March. But then, things could shift – as they are moving so fast these days. Whatever happens this is going to be one heavy, ethereal psych tome picking up where “Between Atoms” left off…

Is anybody out there? Oh, I know I’ve been absent from this blog…things have been very strange and busy as of late. Writing, writing, writing and traveling some and now working on a few exciting projects that I will write more about as they develop. Often I listen to DJ Luvs carefully crafted mixes and he just sent me the link to his latest – “I’m On My Way To Get You Through Another Cold Day.” Between Atoms is tucked in between Grizzly Bear and Laetitia Sadier – wunderbar. It is day-dream beauty – enjoy!

KIDS POP 2012!

It’s that time of year Montrealers! POP MONTREAL is taking over the city and this year I’ll be bringing out my alter ego Lederhosen Lucil out of the pantry for a special KidsPop concert. BBQ – MUSIC – TOMFOOLERY! This is a FREE Pop event not to be missed. Other bands include psych pop darlings “Elephant Stone.”

“Kit Operette” by Daily Tous Les Jours garnered rave reviews in the Parisian tabloids and we’re hoping to tour it to digital art centers internationally in 2013/2014. “Slept Through A Landslide” Remix – August 2012

Of all the songs I’ve written I never really considered “Tired Angels” as being particularly palatable for a remix. Musically it begins as an upbeat electro-pop dance party and ends in an ethereal dream with reverberating strings and the haunting vocals ‘my angels, my angels are tired’.

When Jesse Dangerously and Noah23 enter the picture, they pick up the thread and continue the story from their perspective and with a down tempo rap delivery. Yes, everything is dust… but when the wind moves we rise up. These songs not only serve as a warning – pointing us in the direction of spiritual and physical health – they advocate for individual awakening that leads to a strong and positive collective consciousness. Poetry, melody, and rhythm, lead the way!

Special launch parties for the zine/remix are in the works for Ottawa on August 30th and a private RSVP event in Montreal August 31st .
